Nuestra máquina de radio fijo para entrenar las acciones de frenado y de empuje del tren inferior basándonos en el movimiento del Squat y sus variantes de tracción vertical. Las máquinas de radio fijo tienen la particularidad de que el eje es el mismo durante todo el recorrido, por lo que todas las variaciones en la aceleración de la máquina, dependen de la capacidad del deportista para aplicar fuerza en ese movimiento. Tienen una orientación más estructural a nivel muscular al ser máquinas más lentas que una polea cónica y permiten mayor tiempo de tensión, al tener una aceleración más baja y por tanto ser movimientos más lentos. Para incidir en esta característica fundamental en las máquinas de radio fijo, se usa la desmultiplicación en la cuerda 1 x 2 que obliga al deportista a aplicar más fuerza y a aumentar el tiempo de tensión durante todo el recorrido del movimiento. Es importante indicar que el movimiento que vamos a realizar sobre la máquina, el squat o alguna de sus variantes, tiene una particularidad muy grande, y es que en este ejercicio nuestro cuerpo va a estar sometido a la acción de la gravedad, por lo que en la fase concéntrica de aceleración tendremos que contrarrestar su acción negativa actuando en contra de nuestra aplicación de fuerza, frenándonos. Mientras que en la fase excéntrica de frenado, esta acción de la gravedad sobre nuestro cuerpo se va a sumar a la fuerza generada por la velocidad de rotación del volante de inercia haciendo la fase de frenado ( excéntrica) más intensa y exigente que la concéntrica y técnicamente más compleja para el deportista, al tener que gestionar una sobrecarga importante en el mismo espacio.
